Allowing yourself to be completely vulnerable with someone you barely know, can be a very difficult experience. Taking that initial step into therapy may bring forward a variety of feeling anticipating what is next to come. My hope is to create a safe and comfortable environment for you. I strive to be an agent of change as well as helping motivate others in finding their strengths and becoming the best version of themselves. Feeling stuck and not understanding why may be the most difficult headspace to be in. A goal of mine is to help others find their voice and feel confident in the decisions they make throughout their life. I see clients in person or Telehealth.
I enjoy working with teens and adults who experience anxiety and depression, often related to traumatic experiences in their life. My specialty is in Perinatal Mental Health and focuses on women trying to get pregnant, soon-to-be moms, and women post pregnancy. I also have experience working with more serious mental health concerns, like Bipolar Disorder. Trauma and serious mental health issues may cause individuals to become disconnected from everyday life. The process to getting pregnant, becoming pregnant, and the life event of having a child can be overwhelming, life altering, and traumatic for both mother and father. It is my hope to utilize and practice a variety of mindfulness techniques in order for you to become grounded and bring you back to the present moment. I find it important to keep a strong connection between your mind and body. I use Person-Centered Approach and a Cognitive-Behavioral Approach, which means I aim to meet you where you are in life and work as a team in order for you to achieve personal goals. I believe my straightforward approach combines with being my true authentic self creates a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Additionally, as a professional, I understand the effects of stress and burnout and how it can negatively impact you daily functioning.
I was born and raised in Sparks, NV and graduated from UNR with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies. I then attended Capella University where I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a practicum student, I worked at The Children’s Cabinet working with local youth and families. After graduating I was given an amazing opportunity to work at AmberCreek Counseling and Recovery Services in the rural communities of Northern Nevada. I opened Nurtured Nested in 2022 as my solo private practice in Sparks, NV where I live with my husband and two daughters. I am an active board member of Nevada Kids Foundation a local non profit that provides essential items and resources to the struggling youth in our community.
I look forward to learning more about you and working together to help you feel like yourself again!
